Will this make my legs longer?

My upper body is longer than my legs. I’m 16 and for the longest time, I’ve been trying to make my legs proportional. If i hang from a tall place, will my legs get longer? because of gravity pulling on legs. If that doesn’t work, do you know any secrets/massage techniques, etc for me legs to get longer?

Since it is possible for bone growth to be stunted, you are obviously concerned that due to you current proportions, you may have overlooked some contributory factors to bone development.

You have figured out that gravity plays a role in bone growth, and that muscle tension can also be involved.

While these things are true, hanging is unlikely to have any impact on your bone growth, as others have already pointed out.

The role gravity plays is to stimulate the calcification of bone. One of the problems with extended space travel, for example, is poor bone mineralization after long periods of weightlessness. I’m sure this does not apply to you, at least not at this time, lol.

However, excessive muscle tension can have a 24 hour effect on bone growth, which is why braces work on teeth, for example.

Stretching and yoga exercises recommended by other posters can only help if done correctly. Just make sure you don’t overdo anything, or you could have the opposite effect from what you intend.

Most important to proper bone growth is hormone production and nutrition during the growth phase.

While it is possible to affect bone growth during adolescence, the most important aspect is timing. Different portions of your skeleton develop at different times. It is during these times that intervention is most successful.

An elongated midsection is not unusual, even if it may correspond to unusual hormonal or nutritional factors during the corresponding growth phase. After a certain point in your development, the painful surgery noted by other posters is the only likely way to achieve the proportions you desire.

Rather than go that route, I would recommend the cosmetic changes noted by others above.
